Photos of Wylie's brave and courageous!

Rick and Alicia White have been photographing the Wylie, TX Fire Department since 1998 and the Wylie, TX Police Department since 1999.

It began when Alicia took a photojournalism class at TWU and was required to find a long term subject. The fire department seemed like an interesting and unique choice. Rick used a handheld radio and would notify Alicia, and both would take off to an incident. After the class, Chief Shan English asked Alicia to continue shooting photos and Rick joined in with a camera of his own. Soon the pair was seen at fire incidents throughout Wylie photographing fires, rescues, and vehicular accidents.

It didn't take long for the couple to explore their interests with the police department and they took their first ride along in 1999. Getting to know the officers and after a few adrenalin rushes, the couple was hooked and have been on several ride along's to help promote the police department in a positive light.

Alicia and Rick have found an extended family through these brave men and women. They consider it a privilege to provide the police and fire fighters with photos of them hard at work. Wylie residents also have a unique inside look of the professional and courageous men and women who serve them.
